My local Costco started selling Mexican Coca-Cola! Mexican Coke is better than regular coke for two reasons: it comes in a really tall glass bottle and it’s made with real sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup.
So, how does it taste? It’s certainly different than the Coke I’m used to. It seems to be less acidic and not as sweet, which I like. I would have to guess that the difference in flavor has less to do with the replacement of corn syrup with sugar and more to do with the water used and the amount of Coke syrup added (it differs from bottling plants).
I doubt that I would buy this on a regular basis. It costs more than regular Coke (probably because it’s imported and because sugar costs more than corn syrup) and I’ve been trying to drink less soda.
That said, give it a try if you find it in your area.
