I really like the Chrome OS. Well, I haven’t used the Chrome OS, so I guess what I mean is that I like the idea behind the Chrome OS.
This OS is clearly not designed to be used as anyone’s main operating system. It’s made for netbooks (I don’t know if it is actually aimed just at netbooks, but it should be if it isn’t).
The internet has a lot of great tools, but it’s still not nearly powerful enough yet to be used as the basis of a full featured operating system. That said, I believe it is more than suitable to be used as a supplementary OS, which is really what netbooks are for. The Chrome OS will allow to do just about as much as the netbook can handle.
If you were a college student or a traveling businessman, a netbook with only a web browser would pretty much accomplish 99% of what you need.
Putting Windows 7 on a netbook is like wearing pants 6 sizes too big. You could make it work, but why the hell would you want to?
