Before Christmas I had to bring my MacBook Pro to Apple in order to fix a broken ‘Z’ key and inverter/screen/backlight LED array (we weren’t really sure what the issue was, but basically the backlight would shut off randomly and sometimes flicker an I couldn’t do anything to turn it on again, it had a mind of its own). This was on Sunday and the woman at the Genius Bar (I called it the Genus Bar, which would be a very different thing) said it would be about 7-10 days and they would have to send out the laptop. Needless to say I wasn’t happy. So I gave it to them and I check the status today (they weren’t going to touch it over Christmas, obviously) and it said that it was being shipped to the apple store from Texas.
So, basically this means they shipped it out on Monday because they don’t ship on Sunday (as far as I know), OK makes sense. What about Tuesday, did they somehow manage to ship it out from here to Texas in one day? Lets say it arrived there yesterday. According to the repair info that would mean that they fixed it the day it arrived and shipped it out the same day. Considering all that was wrong with it I doubt it.
I checked the repair status on Apple.com and it seems like my laptop should be back at the store any minute now. This could either be good or bad. Possible outcomes are: A. they fixed every issue and really did manage to get it out that fast (good!) B. they sent me a new mac (slightly annoying, but pretty good) C. Fixed one issue, but not the other (Bad if they issue they fixed was the ‘Z’ Key, slightly annoying if they fixed the screen issue and not the key issue) or D. They fixed nothing at all (not sure how this could happen, but I just don’t know).
