Especially for product search, thanks to better results and Microsoft’s cash-back program with 1-5% discounts. But Google, Pogue says, will probably catch up with Bing on the useful results.
I’ve messed around with Bing, and I have to admit that it’s not terrible. It has some useful features and things that it does better than Google. That said, I don’t really like the UI. It’s not terrible, but it’s not as dead simple as Google is. Another reason I still prefer Google is that I’ve gotten to know all of the tricks like how to search by file type or within a web site. On top of all that, nothing beats Google Maps. Google Maps is the greatest piece of software ever developed.
