I noticed recently that my site had dropped of the face of the ea…Google. When you searched for “Ben Gold” my site used to come up number 4, not bad when you have a name like mine (a common first name and a last name that is a word) yesterday I noticed that I had dropped off the google search almost completely and I knew it was because I redesigned my site. I got a lot of traffic from that search result (yeah, people actually google me!, it’s so weird.) Anyway it turns out it was because my site (the welcome page to my new site) was titled “Home” an my name was no where on the page. So I just changed the title to “Ben Gold” so hopefully in a few hours (Google now has bots that can find new site info in as little as 2 hours!) I will be back in my old spot. I really hope so.
Unfortunately, currently a post I wrote for Mashable is the number one result for “Ben Gold”, and I no longer write there.
